Mmhmm. I didn't like his reasons at the time, but now I know he just wanted to protect me. [Or maybe protect others from him. Hard to say.

Dad wanted to be able to protect me too. Even now... I don't know, I love him and appreciate all he did for me, but not letting me outside at all was really rough.

[Shrug. It's all in the past so there's no changing it now, but still, experiencing a more normal childhood would have been nice. He's not exactly seeing the forest for the trees with this, but it's fine.]

Anyway, we need to stop hanging out down here and I need to talk to Arria. Someones gonna think I couldn't handle a little searching around or I got lost or something before too long. [Probably Rubia. She's like that.

So hey he's going to turn and head up to the open deck of the boat. Come on Kor or you'll miss the fantastic view of ocean for as far as the eye can see. Thrilling.]

Huh? [Kor was so caught up in talking to Caius like this that he barely notices him turn and leave until he's already heading up those stairs.] --Hey, wait up!

[It was weird. He was almost certain this was the first time he'd met Caius, but... He really couldn't shake that feeling of familiarity he's been getting. And with the way his Spiria felt at ease around Caius, like he was an old friend... He couldn't figure it out.

But his thoughts over his conflicted Spiria are soon cast away once he gets above deck and catches sight of that ocean. Caius didn't think much of it, but it was breathtaking to Kor.]

Wow? [He laughs, only a bit.] It's just the ocean, water as far as you can see and nothing else.

[Said with a shrug... Which quickly turns into a flinch as he's smacked on the arm by a sudden, surprisingly-agile-for-what-she's-wearing pink haired girl.

"What are you talking about Caius? You were so excited when we set sail you had me thinking you were going to jump overboard and start swimming around with how you were acting!"]

Wh-- It wasn't like that at all! I just wanted to see how deep it is, as if I'd just jump in! [... He wanted to. But didn't. So it's okay!! Hi Kor meet Rubia. Rubia, Kor. She'd take notice of Kor but she's busy bickering with Caius now so whoops.]

[Seeing Caius get corrected and scolded by his friend like that, Kor can't help but laugh. He can tell they're very close, it kind of reminds him of how his friends are.]

I grew up by the ocean, so it's not that exciting to me! But seeing the ocean like this really makes you appreciate how big and beautiful the world really is, just how much is out there to see, you know?

[Seeing the world was the best part of the adventure in Kor's opinion.]

Plus... It feels familiar. Even though this is a completely different world, your ocean looks like my ocean. All big and expansive, water as far as the eye can see. It's kinda comforting, really.

[Kor, most oceans look like that...]

[No Kor don't laugh, it's not a laughing matter! Caius grumbles and backs down and just lets Rubia correct him. Or he would, but she's distracted by Kor talking. Very distracted.

"Oh it does, doesn't it? It's so wide, full of possibilities just over the horizon. Maybe there's happiness or romance waiting for us!"

Caius rolls his eyes.

"Caius never says anything like that, sometimes it's like he can barely see past the end of his no-- Ah... A different world, did you say?" Rubia gives Kor an odd look, then turns to Caius and lifts her eyebrows. "Caius, who is this?"]

Oh, uh, this is Kor! I was gonna introduce you but then you decided it was more important to go on and on about the ocean. [He doesn't. Actually explain. The different world bit though. Which has Rubia shaking her head at him.]

[He's laughing with you, Caius! Not at you! Rubia's a gal after Kor's Spiria here, though, because he can absolutely agree with her. There's so much to see and do out in that great big wide world.]

Uh-huh. I'm not from here. Err, wherever 'here' is.

[If you were expecting subtlety from Kor, Caius... Well, you should really have known better.]

[Alright then Kor just make things difficult from the get-go.]

["Complicated? Caius, you think books with more pictures than words are complicated." Not happy with that answer, Rubia turns to Kor directly. "Hello Kor, I'm Rubia. If you're not from 'here' then does that mean you're from Senshibia or Aurella?"

Hope you're not expecting Caius to help clarify things for you Kor, because...]

No I don't, it's just... Reading gives me a headache. [He's just rubbing his head and looking off to the side. Heck thinking about reading a lot makes his head spin.]

[It's okay Caius, Kor understands. Reading lots of words makes his head spin.]

Speaking of, though. You said this ship's going to that Senshibia place, right? Are you going there to meet with your prince friend?

Anyway, generally? You don't think 'another world' or some magical gate or whatever is a actual proper answer to a question like that. You'd expect a town or something to be the answer not neither! Rubia looks confused and a little wary, at least until 'prince friend' comes up.]

No, Tilkis is-- ["My dear big brother is on the ship with us! We're all traveling there together."] ... What she said, Tilkis is here. He was gonna stay back with everyone else but then he came flying after us.

Oh, so that makes you a princess, then. [He's taking her claims about "big brother" a little too literally there. And yet despite that belief, he doesn't sound as impressed as you might expect someone to. But when you know the empress of the entire planet, a princess doesn't seem all that impressive.]

[Says the guy from another planet.]

[Rubia's eyes immediately light up at being called a princess-- Which prompts Caius to quickly wave his hands around between her and Kor to try and stop Rubia from getting too carried away.]

She's not a princess! Princesses don't act anything like Rubia does. ["Excuse me?!"] I'm just saying the truth, you're not a princess! You're not even related! ["Are you just jealous because there's more royalty around now? Honestly Caius, shouldn't you act more like a prince anyway? That's very unbecoming of you."] Stop trying to talk like a princess!!

[Hi they're just. Arguing. It's like their default natural state of being so. Get used to it Kor.]

[Kor just laughs again at these two. It reminds him a lot of his friends, how he'd fight with Hisui sometimes, or how Beryl and Hisui would get into it, or how Kohaku would get mad at Hisui...

...Hisui caused a lot of fights, huh.]

You two sure must be close, huh? It reminds me of my friends back home.

[The last time he spoke without thinking about this kind of thing Rubia told him to go die in a ditch. So. At least he's learned to be a little more considerate when talking about the two of them together. Maybe.

While Caius tries to recover, Rubia notices her chance to press Kor about something again

"Oh Kor, tell me about your friends and where they're all from!" She wasn't content with him just being from neither Aurella or Senshibia. She wants details.]

[Yeah, they were definitely close friends, Kor could see that much.]

[Kor leans against the ship's railing, looking out at the ocean.]

Well... There's Gall. He's old but always gives me good advice. And Chal's kinda like you, but he's a flying knight! Beryl's a painter with a really big hat, and Ines is really impressive. Kunzite's a loyal mechaknight who serves Lithia, and she tries so hard to do what's right. Hisui and I butt heads all the time, but I couldn't ask for a truer friend. And his sister, Kohaku...

[He pauses. His cheeks turn red, as he runs a hand through his hair.]

...She's the most amazing girl I've ever met.

[Don't you wish Caius talked about his friends like that, Rubia?]

Hm, Gall? ... He's like Forest, right? ["Sounds like Forest. He always has very good advice. And he's hard working. But did you hear? A flying knight like me..."] What? Kor was talking to me, I'm more knightly than you! ["Do you even like the knights anymore? Anyway, we can't match the next two."] I guess Arria is impressive, and she wore that weird hat before, right? ["Don't say you "guess" something about a lady! And it wasn't a hat, it was... Well I'm not sure what it was."] A hat! ... Headband?

[The two end up looking at each other a little unsure, either stumped by Arria's headgear or a little lost at Kor's next friend and the concept of a mechaknight. The closest Aurella has to anything like that would be castle golems and they're more magic and mecha.

Forget Kor's friends though because oh, oh me, oh my, oho. Rubia sees that look of Kor's. There's no denying it.

"Oh, you love her don't you! How romantic!"] Wh-- How do you get that from him going all red?! ["It's obvious, come on Caius! Calling someone the most amazing girl they've ever met... Haven't you ever felt like saying something like that before?"] ... No?? Why would I? I mean yeah you're amazing, but so is Arria, your precepts are both really strong and-- Huh?!

[Rubia, having had enough of this conversation and sorely regretting steering it this way, puffs up her cheeks in frustration and quickly turns on her heels to walk off in a huff... Caius watches as she walks away and then lifts an eyebrow at Kor. What happened?? He said she's amazing and strong!]

[Kor watches the two of them go back and forth as he described his different friends. So they have friends similar to the ones he has! Well, Kor knows every person is unique, even if they have similarities between them. But still, if they have similar taste in friends, then they'll sure get along!

Once Rubia points out his love for Kohaku, he turns a deeper red, but a fond smile is on his face. He sure ain't denying it. 'Love' doesn't even begin to describe how he feels about Kohaku at this point, he's pretty sure.]

[...And then that all goes away when Rubia suddenly storms off in a huff, leaving Kor feeling just as bewildered as Caius is.]

Maybe she's more like Beryl than Chal...

[Beryl always gets huffy like that for seemingly no reason too...]

More like she just needs to get a grip and tell me what's wrong all the time instead of just... Storming off!

[He says it all with a huff and few exaggerated arm movements. She's always been like this and he gets it, she likes it when he notices her and includes her in his plans. And he likes that! But sometimes he compliments her and it just gets her more mad, which gets him mad in turn.

It's exhausting. And annoying.

Caius ends up sighing before crossing his arms. At first he looks annoyed, but his expression quickly falls to look more let down than anything else.]

She's been doing this a lot recently. Getting all upset over nothing... Well, something I've done I guess? I don't know. I'm not... Uh, psychic? [Is that the word? Might be.]

[He watches the direction Rubia stormed off in, as if expecting her to suddenly come back. But she doesn't.]

Girls are confusing.

[So confusing.]

[What she does do though! Is look back. At both of them.

... And she stands.

... Aaand she waits.

And seems to get even more annoyed as the two of them just watch her before storming off. Her footsteps are loud enough to be heard as Rubia stomps along the deck of the ship, off to find Arria and complain that boys are hopeless.]

You're telling me. [...] Hey wait, you call them confusing but you're totally fine saying one is the most amazing girl you've ever met?

[He must have them a little figured out to say something like that!]

Yeah, that's right.

[If you had a point, Caius... Kor isn't getting it, sorry.

Kor looks out at the ocean again.]

Say, how long do you think until we reach Senshibia?

[... He just gives Kor a weird look that lasts even through the question he asks. Like he's waiting for elaboration on his own question and Kor just isn't. Doing anything.

What the hell??? This is so dumb.

Caius ends up rolling his eyes with a sigh.]

Uh, not too long. Maybe? It's not like I've ever gone across the ocean before. I can always hunt down Tilkis and ask him, he'll have a better idea than me.

[Sorry you never realized how stupid and weird Kor actually is, Caius.]

[Kor stares out at the ocean for a bit, just... thinking about everything he's been told. A whole new world, and he's away from his friends. They're probably worried sick about him...

But there isn't a whole lot he can do about that right now. He found his way here, so there's gotta be a way back somehow, right? And if he searches long enough, he'll find it sooner or later!]

Say, Caius. You said you've never been to Senshibia, right? So that means it's a brand new experience for both of us!

[...Anything on this world would be a brand new experience for you, Kor.]

[It's a shame he's only realising it now. Not that it changes anything, he might be stupid but he's still his friend.

At least what he's saying no he can get behind better than Kor just giving him a non-answer.]

Right! We both to get to see it for ourselves for the first time together. [...] We're gonna have to go back so I can show you everything on the other side of the water too, my side. After this anyway, and who know how long this is gonna take!

[Can't go wrong with a spot of adventure! And with adventures comes camping. And new places. And swapping stories and nights under the stars. Is there a better like out there than that?]
